Last year we reviewed the HyperX Pulsefire FPS gaming mouse, a solid outing from HyperX that offered an affordable and durable choice for those looking for a serious performer. In many ways the HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro is a sequel to last year’s clicker, but in the traditional Hollywood sense. Bigger, better, and packed with more explosions. Err, features.
The new Pixart 3389 sensor not only ups the overall sensitivity but when coupled with the HyperX NGenuity software, the door opens – so to speak - for full customisation. On that front the latest version of NGenuity is easier to use than ever before and switching between profiles and setting up the various macros or DPI switch settings is a breeze. The only real downside is that with an install size of 1.6GB – it’s essentially bloatware in terms of the storage space required. Which thankfully doesn’t carry over to the speed and responsiveness of the application itself – which limits its UI to the HyperX peripherals you’ve actually got connected.
