Wireless gaming headsets are probably the go-to for most out there, but going wireless means an additional cost to maintain audio quality, comfort, and all of the other things to look for. In our review of the new HyperX Cloud Core Wireless Gaming Headset we discover that its ~$150 AUD price-point delivers where it counts.

Plus, it's got the bass.
The HyperX Cloud range of gaming headsets have been around for quite some-time, and we’ve reviewed multiple versions over the years. This is not to say that the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless is more of the same, but instead something of a stand-out in how its design comes together. Although a budget-conscious offering for a wireless headset the build quality is impressive, which sits on top of some interesting audio choices.

Namely the inclusion of large 53mm drivers and the ability to hit sub-bass frequencies without distorting or otherwise blanketing the sound in a mess of bass for yo’ face (via your ears). It’s unusual for headphones outside of the audiophile or premium-realm to tackle sub-bass, and by doing so it gives the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless a distinct bass-heavy sound that isn’t unnatural. This is the sort of deep rumble that would make George Lucas take note.
