Following the recent announcement of Homefront: The Revolution, and as E3 2014 rolls on in Los Angeles, developer Crytek US has hosted livestream reveal of the sequel's first gameplay.
As previously noted, Homefront: The Revolution follows on the trail blazed by the now defunct Kaos Studios, who spun a Red Dawn-esque yarn about a North Korean invasion of the USA. Crytek is the series' new owner and steward and its UK studio -- which is comprised of a many former Free Radical developers of Timesplitters fame -- is the team charded with bringing a dystopian Philadelphia to life on the powerful CryEngine technology.
The footage streamed today by Crytek was thoughtfully captured by several Youtubers, and embedded below for your viewing pleasure (thanks Eurogamer). In over 9 minutes of gameplay action from Homefront: The Revolution's single-player, it's a good showcase of the new game's attention to detail, gadgets and storytelling.
Homefront: The Revolution is due in 2015 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
