In what might start to become a new(ish) trend, a young man going by Jeff P is asking people to submit critical feedback for an update to Super Smash Bros. on Wii U to help "provide all players and spectators with a more entertaining, pleasing, and exceptionally polished experience".
Jeff is apparently part of a group calling themselves GameImprovements, who have put together a PDF of their submission so far, as well as a video outlining the goals of this exercise. Here's Jeff's pitch as was submitted to us:
Want to help make a game perfect?
You can help Super Smash Bros. for Wii U reach its full potential! Various members of the Smash Community have come together to help me write a document containing goals for the developers to use when improving Super Smash Bros for Wii U. However, we are only a small fraction of the people playing the game. We would love to have your support in publicizing this work! Please consider taking a look at the document and writing a brief entry about it.
The goals within this document detail steps to take that, if implemented, will provide all players and spectators with a more entertaining, pleasing, and exceptionally polished experience.
This document is not a review of the game. Rather, it has been written solely to provide feedback on how the game could be improved, without needing to make drastic overhauls or create a wealth of new assets. Super Smash Bros Wii U is already a tremendous title, and only needs to be briefly expanded on to reach its full potential.
Obviously critical feedback for games exists on forums, within reviews and post-analysis, on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook and more, so it's not an entirely new idea, but kudos to the peeps doing this for rallying behind such a big game and attempting to ask Nintendo directly (even it is in vain).
Also, be warned, the below embed is a 55+ minute-long video strictly featuring the above-linked PDF.
