Based on community feedback, developer Stompy Bot has made some adjustments to the funding targets of their Kickstarter project for mech combat game Heavy Gear Assault, lowering the entry point to creating a single-player component.

The project now aims to include a single-player episode at the $800,000 funding target, which is the base goal the team has set to deliver the game in a state deemed to be complete. It's looking like they might still be a bit overly ambitious however, as the Kickstarter pledge drive has only attracted $26K from around 500 backers in its first week.

Another recent update to the Kickstarter project promises Oculus Rift support as standard for the Unreal Engine 4-powered title, explaining that "Heavy Gear is the perfect game for Oculus because Pilots in the HG universe actually wear VR Helmets!". Head over to the Kickstarter page for more details.

Actually, if you look at the game website (https://heavygear.com/) they've raised over $145K. The $27K on Kickstarter only shows the amount raised through it.

Yep, had mentioned that in a previous article http://www.ausgamers.com/news/read/3308083/heavy-gear-assault-kickstarter-project-launches

But the thing about the Kickstarter is, that if it doesn't reach the $800K goal in 33 days time, they don't get any of the pledges made there, so it will have been for nought. Well, they might convince some of the users exposed to the project from KS to back them on the official website, but it will be a big set back nonetheless.
