We were lucky enough to be on an invite list to partake in some MMO action via Guild Wars 2 and a closed beta over the weekend, and couldn't turn down the huge, tear-welling puppy dog eyes of Alan "JeremyPencil" Moore, who as it happens, is a bit of a nut for these types of games.

So, he logged a ridiculous number of hours, lost sleep, his sensibilities and any affiliation he may have had to any other MMOs out there on market, at least for the interim, to give us the full run-down on where Guild Wars 2 is at in terms of livening up the usual MMO grind experience, and all signs point to this being well worth your baited breath.

All I could find on the beta was that it was going to happen and now suddenly beta is over. I feel like I missed something which is a shame because I would of liked to get into this. Oh well i'll no doubt pick it up anyway because i'm a huge mmo nut. Still, little lag and sounds like you had lots of fun playing so seems worth a chance at least.

Looking great! Between this and Tera, I'll never have to leave the house besides work! DM it was press only beta, but closed beta is starting either this week or next week, at least that's what the rumours are saying.

Oh speaking of tera, new beta starts on saturday morning. Lv 27 cap, 2 characters per server now with a pvp server opened up. Sorry for slight deviation.

Would be worried if Lag was an issue in a closed beta. Have been playing The Old Republic up to level 24 and not even released in Oz region yet till March. Nary lag issues at all. I think Bioware might have dropped the ball by making Oceania wait so long personally.
