Hand of Fate, the Kickstarter crowdfunded "card based roguelike" game from Brisbane-based indie team Defiant Development has made its way onto Steam Early Access, allowing eager players to have a taste of its unfinished state for USD$24.99 (reportedly a discount on the planned launched pricing).
In this beautiful title players collect equipment, items, artifacts and enemies as in-game collectible cards in a card based RPG; then play their deck, bringing to video game life a vibrant fantasy 3D world in which gamers make difficult decisions. Sometimes their choices have unexpected consequences and players must crush their foes utilizing a third person action-adventure combat system.
A FAQ on the game's early access explains that the devs intend to "wrap Hand of Fate up by the end of the year", and notes that while the early access version is reasonably content complete, it is "very unbalanced", and still has some placeholder assets for voiceovers and other sounds.
