Today Halo: The Master Chief Collection got a big ol' update with the arrival of an 'Optimised for Xbox Series X and S' patch in addition to Halo 4 making its way to PC. On that front it now means the full Halo collection is now playable on PC, with all games optimised for PC hardware - including keyboard and mouse support, uncapped frame-rates, and ultrawide too.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on PC as a part of Xbox Game Pass for PC, via the Microsoft Store or Steam.

Witness the Master Chief’s triumphant return to battle an ancient evil bent on vengeance and annihilation. Shipwrecked on a mysterious world, faced with new enemies and deadly technology, the universe will never be the same.

PC Settings/Optimizations: Halo 4 looks better than ever on PC, including up to 4K UHD at 60+ FPS. Other PC native settings include customizable mouse and keyboard support, ultrawide support, FOV customization and more.

Campaign: An ancient evil awakens and a new saga begins. Shipwrecked on a mysterious world, the Master Chief must unravel the sinister secrets of an ancient alien race to find a way home. But in his search for the truth, the Master Chief discovers that some secrets are better left buried.

Multiplayer: Continue your Halo adventure with 25 multiplayer maps from the revered Halo 4, featuring an updated armor customization system that allows players to change more armor pieces than ever before, as well as countless ways to play with Forge and Theater.

Spartan Ops: Enlist aboard the UNSC Infinity to experience innovative episodic fiction-based co-op missions that pick up the story where Halo 4’s campaign left-off.

And in terms of next-gen, some of that PC good stuff is now available on the latest Xbox consoles, with the additions being:
  • 120 FPS in Campaign and Multiplayer on both Xbox Series X and Series S
  • 4K Resolution on Xbox Series X
  • 1080p Resolution on Xbox Series S
  • Improved Split-Screen Play
  • Adjustable FOV

  • 343 Industries has also confirmed that the fight is far from over when it comes to The Master Chief Collection, with new features, updates, and seasons coming in 2021.
