First off though, we're assuming that this new Halo teaser is about Halo Infinite which is on track to get its big reveal next month as part of the Xbox Series X first-party line-up stream planned. If not, then well... maybe there's a surprise Halo Wars 3 announcement coming soon. And that is because the tease involves The Banished -- a mercenary group led by the Warlord Atriox -- last seen in Halo Wars 2.

Check it out.

“The hour approaches. Forces occupy the ring," the transmission begins. "Within hours, it will be under our control. Humanity will burn, the brazen defiance will be all but a memory. No more Prophets. No more lies. We stand together, brothers to the end. We are his will, we are his legacy, we are The Banished.”

There's a lot riding on Infinite's gameplay debut, not only in terms of how developer 343's new Slipspace Engine will present a next-gen entry in the iconic franchise but also how it will address the mixed response from Halo 5. Announced a few years ago the game has been in development for quite some time and with its planned Holiday 2020 release (barring any unforeseen delays) whatever we see will be a look at a game pretty far along in development.
