In that a new listing for a Senior Software Development Engineer was asking for "a talented, passionate, and effective Senior Software Development Engineer to drive implementation of our PC client anti-cheat and security features for Halo Infinite." Which all but confirms the game coming to PC. Naturally the
job listing has since been edited to remove references to Halo Infinite, but not before the internet did its thang.
Which, is great news for PC fans - who are still waiting on the Halo series to make its return to the platform.
In other not so hot job news, Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries is also looking for an Online Experience Design Director - with "a deep understanding of various business models found in both mobile and AAA games." Translation, microtransactions, loot boxes, grind-heavy progression.
The
job listing mentions 'microtransactions' specifically so there's that. Now of course if implemented correctly, without any pay-to-win mechanics or keeping things limited to cosmetic items this might not be bad thing - but also proof that developers and publishers look at microtransaction and progression systems at the same time they're figuring out stuff like story and mechanics.
Which is sorta refreshing to know.
