Delivering the bad news again, developer Rockstar has revealed in a new update that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is once again delayed, pushing the release to April 14th.

Originally scheduled for January 27th, Rockstar previously pushed the game back to March 24th, however we hope that the April release is final and won't be changing again.

"Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC."

It isn't all bad news though, with Rockstar offering $200,000 in-game cash for those who pre-order the game. Also mentioned is that Online Heists - a four-player cooperative mission mode - will finally be going live on March 10th for PlayStation and Xbox, with PC gaining access on its launch.

Why delay for multiplayer features? I assume everyone will be playing the single player campaign first?

Mortal Kombat X takes precedence over this...to many good games getting released in April, how annoying! Isn't Project Cars being pushed back to April as well? What is this the competition month of the year...

Leave generally needs to be organised in advance. So if you are excited about a game launch and want to put in a good chunk of time come release, you don't have much choice.

If you weren't excited enough to want to play it at launch, you probably wouldn't bother booking leave to play it OR expect to play it in long enough chunks that you'd want to avoid work anyway. So waiting until launch and then booking leave which would be happening some weeks into the future doesn't make much sense.

I suppose it would be better to wait until it goes gold though since generally companies tend to stick to release schedules after that.

So I dusted off an old 360 and bought a cheap pre-owned copy of the game. Both because I need to play it and secondly so I get some of the content available to returning 360 players. It's still fun even when it struggles to hit 30fps, the aliasing looks terrible, pop in is rampant and is running at I believe sub 720p. Can't wait to play it on PC.
