Gran Turismo 7 launched earlier this year on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5,
receiving favourable reviews. Sitting down with Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi as part of the recent Gran Turismo World Finals in Monaco,
GTPlanet asked the Polyphony Digital veteran about the chances of the latest game in the series coming to PC.
“Yes, I do think so,” Yamauchi replied when asked about a potential PC port. Something to join the likes of God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and the Spider-Man games, which have all recently made their way to PC.
But in typical Poliphony fashion, any port would need to be at the level of their high standards. “Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title, there are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform," Yamauchi adds. "It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
The above hints at potentially limiting the port, if it arrives, to high-end PC rigs. Though with the game available on PS4, odds are it will scale across a wide range of hardware.
