Ghost of Tsushima was a brilliant slice of Samurai action when it launched last year, and another great addition to the PlayStation library. The newly announced Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is set to arrive on August 20, Bringing with it a new story-driven expansion that sees Jin visit Iki Island alongside PlayStation 5 enhancements.
"We’ve thought a lot about how to expand Jin’s story, and we’ve also spent the last year poring over all of your feedback about how we could improve the experience of playing Ghost of Tsushima," writes Andrew Goldfarb, Communications Manager, Sucker Punch Productions. "We’ve been hard at work on a brand new edition of the game, which not only includes a new chapter in Jin’s journey, but also some new updates that are a direct response to some of the community’s most-requested features."
With one of those being full Japanese lip sync for cut-scenes in Ghost of Tsushima and the Iki Island expansion on PS5. The PS5 edition will support DualSense features like haptic feedback in addition to improved loading and 4K options targeting 60-fps.
The Director's Cut is headed to PS4 and PS5 though the versions will launch at $114.95 AUD on PS5 and $99.95 AUD on PS4. Here's where it gets a little confusing. If you own the game on PS4 the upgrade to the Director’s Cut on PS4 is listed as $19.99 USD (local price TBC) and $29.99 USD for the PS5 version. Even going from the Director's Cut on PS4 to PS5 will cost $9.99 USD.
