"Join us as we unveil the latest innovations in gaming and graphics." That's the teaser for a special
NVIDIA GeForce broadcast called GeForce RTX: Game On happening in January. Happening Janruay 12, 2021 at 09:00AM PST (which is like 4am on the 13th here in Australia) it'll be interesting to see just what this is all about.
That is on the account of 2020 being a massive one for NVIDIA and GeForce. The launch of the new
GeForce RTX 3080 and 30 series of Ampere graphics cards, the debut of DLSS 2.0 which is a game changer when it comes to rendering and performance, the maturing of real-time ray-tracing thanks to releases like
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and
Cyberpunk 2077. Not to mention NVIDIA Reflex improving latency in games and RTX Broadcast tools leveraging AI for creators and streamers.
Going the pure hardware route we could see the RTX 30 series and Ampere line-up get a few new members in the form of the RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3060 (to offer up a more mainstream version of the excellent
RTX 3060 Ti). Or, it could be something new. More RTX On games, more DLSS magic, more AI wizardry. Or, you know, the simple things. Like confirmation that you could walk into a store and walk out with a brand new RTX 3080.
In the meantime -
be sure to bookmark the special event page.
