As in the THX, the sound company George Lucas formed in the early '80s that helped shape theater and surround sound at homes for decades. Plus, they're the ones that started the whole pre-movie super loud and impressive sound demo thing. According to the details associated with the acquisition, THX will continue to operate independently with its own management. But under the wing of Razer.

“Razer has a vision for innovation at every level of entertainment, a vision which THX has championed since its inception more than 30 years ago,” says Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. “This acquisition will allow us to reinforce Razer’s leadership in gaming and extend the brand into broader areas of entertainment, while at the same time empowering THX to develop into a global powerhouse, independently.”


From this we can probably expect to see THX certification on just about every Razer product moving forward.
