Gamasutra are reporting that the brick and mortar store GameStop will soon be competing with streaming services like OnLive and Gaikai next year, however the service won't be available on consoles as they initially set out.

The new streaming service which GameStop recently acquired last year when they bought streaming technology from Spawn Labs, will only be initially available to PCs, tablets and online connected TVs. The absence of consoles is one that GameStop president Tony Bartel outlined in a recent conference call with investors, stating that "based on consumer feedback, our success in selling mobile devices, and the imminent launch of new consoles, we have decided to move our technology to a PC-based model."

The online streaming service from the retailer was suppose to launch this year, however difficulties have set them back until next year. The decision to initially allow only PC, tablet and TV related devices will definitely mean less competition from the other competing services such as OnLive and Gaikai.
