Kicking off Gamescom in Germany, EA and DICE have put together a new trailer for its highly anticipated World War 1 shooter Battlefield 1. And even though it may not be all that historically accurate, it certainly looks amazing. And like a lot of fun. The trailer gives us a closer look at a desert setting, with all many of weaponry and vehicles going at it. Plus, the triumphant return of horses. Oh, and there's an Open Beta beginning on August 31!

Check it out.

One of the clear stand-outs from the above trailer is the guy with full body armour that deflects a sniper bolt and carries a large machine gun. Well, apparently he's part of a new set of classes called Elite Classes. The dude in question is a Sentry, and is basically a walking tank. There are three Elite Classes in total, with the remaining two being the Flame Trooper and the Tank Hunter. Both of which can be seen in the trailer.

Oh, and the Battlefield 1 Open Beta begins on August 31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC. And will take place on the desert map we see here across two modes, Conquest and Rush.

The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar. From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you’ll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles. When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.

To guarantee early access to the beta, be sure to sign-up to the Battlefield Insider program.
