More from Gamescom with a new trailer from EA for Mass Effect 3. Titled 'Squad leader', it looks at some of the aspects of, uh, leading a squad and shows off a bunch of related gameplay. For those who came in late on Mass Effect 3:
Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the earth.

Is it just me or did the player animations not blend into each other? They seemed to instantly snap from one player action to another.

Also it seems it has the same dumbed-down consolesque cover system as ME2. Incoming rocket? no worries just let go of a button to hide behind a waist high crate with your head and limbs still protruding, but take zero damage!

Stupid dd-mm-yy vs mm-dd-yy formats.
The Japanese have it all sorted out. Their dates even sort alphabetically: yyyy-mm-dd

I noticed that too. Though, it's a Bioware game - It'll be about the plot and characters, and the combat will be fun in a just-ok way.

Damn that's awesome.

reverse alphabetically?

reverse alphabetically?

Basically if you order the items alphabetically (say if you labelled windows folders with dates and sorted by name), you get them correctly ordered with that format.

e.g.
1999-10-25
1999-10-26
2005-12-15

Yeah, this must be from an older build or something, the animations were pretty horrible. I mean, Mass Effect has always had terrible facial animation, but all of the other animation is generally fine. It looks like this video just had placeholder stuff (though you'd think they'd just use the existing animations for placeholder).

Or they could just use 01-Jan-1970.
