Joining the classic Nintendo games from the NES, SNES, and N64 eras comes word that Nintendo is adding Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to Nintendo Switch Online. As the Switch is a hybrid handheld this is awesome news, and a great way to replay some classic Nintendo handheld games.

What's especially cool is the ability to play original Game Boy games using the original green-screen filter, Game Boy Pocket black and white visuals, or how they looked running on a Game Boy Color. GBA fans will be pleased to know that more games are coming, including the excellent Fire Emblem and F-Zero: Maximum Velocity.



Game Boy games will be available to all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with Game Boy Advance games coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Where support for local and online multiplayer will be available.
