When it comes to the next-gen consoles,
Sony went all out when it came to designing the
PlayStation 5's new DualSense controller. It's something we highlighted
in our review of the console, as it brings high-end features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to the fold. As per a recent
Kinda Funny podcast appearance, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer notes that some of those features could be Xbox-bound.
With the
Xbox Series X launch Microsoft took a different path -- one of iteration. The Series X pad is more comfortable, features a better d-pad, and includes a handy share button.
"There’s probably some work that we’ll do on the controller," Phil Spencer told Kinda Funny. "I think Sony’s done a nice job with their controller and we kind of look at some of that and there are things that we should go do."
If we're talking about controller features that aren't of the space-age haptic nature, we'd love for Microsoft to release a battery-free version of the Xbox gamepad. We're simple like that.
