Dead Rising 4: Frank Rising, due for release next month, sees Frank West falling victim to the undead infection and racing against the clock to find a cure. Certainly, it sounds like a great twist to the Dead Rising formula, and in keeping with the series move toward arcade style combat becoming a zombie will have some benefits in terms of new abilities. And perhaps, being able to withstand a beating. As long as it doesn't involve the brain area.
Players will take control of a freshly-infected Frank West as the Willamette outbreak is far from over. Losing his humanity, Frank shambles through the city with a new hunger that can’t be satiated by food court burritos. Seemingly incurable, West will find help from an unlikely ally and be forced to fight to hold onto what makes him human as he races to find a cure for himself. Frank West’s new zombie form brings all new abilities and strength, while forcing him to feed upon other members of the horde to stay alive.
This will be followed up by another bit of DLC called Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf, which is more in line with the silliness that we've become used to with each entry in the series. Naturally, it will blend over-the-top mini golf in both single and multiplayer varieties with the fun of taking out zombies in interesting ways.
Both DLC packs will be sold separately or come together as part of the Season Pass, and will be available on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Steam.
