Turn 10 has unveiled new details on their traditional Car Pass for upcoming Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5, revealing monthly additions to the car lineup through Car Packs.
"Forza Motorsport" has been the foremost racing video game franchise in its support and development of post-release content, delivering new cars months before they hit showrooms, and continuing to add automotive icons sought after by fans around the world.
The tradition will continue on Xbox One with “Forza Motorsport 5” Car Packs to be released on a monthly basis following the launch of “Forza Motorsport 5”. For the first time ever, every vehicle will be available in Forzavista mode; allowing players to explore every inch of each car… inside and out.
Each Forza Motorsport Car Pack will include ten individual cars, with the first pack arriving on the launch of the Xbox One, come November 22nd. Subsequent packs will be available the first week of every month, beginning January through March 2014. Fans of specific makes and models may choose to purchase individual cars, a la carte, while devout fans may opt for the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass.
Those looking at taking up the full Car Pass offer will be passing over $49.99, apparently a saving of 18% compared to buying the individual Car Packs. The first Car Pack available on launch has also been revealed, with players able to to enter the cockpit of Ferrari’s long-awaited new hypercar in the LaFerrari Car Pack. Powered by an innovative 950-hp hybrid engine and limited to 499 global production units, when released, the LaFerrari will be one of the fastest and rarest cars in the world, and Forza fans will get the unique chance to drive the digital experience before anyone else.
In addition to the LaFerrari, the pack will include nine additional cars, details of which will be unveiled by the Forza team through their official website on November 18th. Keep an eye on AusGamers' front page for more on these additional cars.
I was just thinking the same thing Supreme. It is kinda s***** that they're offering a 'season pass' for 'Car pack' DLC's.
I like that they'll be providing support for their product, but not sure how I feel about it going this way. It comes down to two things as I see it. The amount of content contained and the price-point (the latter usually being the sticking point on consoles (ESP. in AU))
I'd prefer to see some ~$15-20 'content packs' which include new tracks, events and cars... but that's just me.
yeah id be happy to pay for a big expansion if its like game changing stuff,
they did the same in forza horizon, holding out on some sweet cars just trying to grab extra $$
you would think that the $100 for the game would cover all the cars

i hate this. so annoying that they make you pay have drive cars that should be in the game for free.
