Hip-hop and basketball go together like two things that go together, and this is something that has been true since I used to own NBA Jam Session on VHS tape in the '90s. Today 2K has released the first gameplay trailer for NBA 2K18, which is basically a music video of NBA highlights set to "Shook Ones" by Mobb Deep.

And in addition to the dope beats, we get a glimpse at the always improving NBA 2K engine. Which is about on or two releases away from looking even better than the real thing. Seriously, we're not sure how much better a basketball game can look.

NBA 2K18 will have competition this year in the form of the return of EA's NBA Live series. Which really, has a lot more to prove. For the 2K series it's more a case of business as usual, with that business being creating amazing NBA games.

NBA 2K18 will be available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC, on September 15. NBA Jam Session came out on VHS in 1993 and featured hits like Rim Shaker by Wreckx-N-Effect.
