We still know next to nothing about the game -- only speculation that it will be a more open-world racing title to compliment the track-focused Forza Motorsport -- but here's the first screenshot of Forza Horizon, the Xbox 360 exclusive title in the works at new UK studio Playground Games.

So it isn't made by Turn 10? Very skeptical if that's the case.

@fpot:
Forza Horizon is being developed by Playground Games in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios. Playground Games is an independent UK game development studio formed in 2009. It was founded by the leadership team responsible for award-winning racing franchises like TOCA, Colin McRae Rally, GRID, and DiRT. Over the past two years the studio has enhanced its core team with experienced developers from Bizarre Creations, Black Rock Studios, Slightly Mad Studios, Criterion Games, Rockstar North, and Ubisoft Reflections, among others. Today, Playground employs more than 100 staff at its headquarters in Royal Leamington Spa, working exclusively on Forza Horizon.
Sounds ok on paper at least.

looks good. Studios sounds great on paper, although that doesn't guarantee a good game.

It'll probably be slightly more arcadey, but they're using Turn 10's Engine so hopefully they shouldn't have to do much change in that department. Oh & it'd be a nice touch if the game saves garages are transferable between the two titles. Love to take my Zonda R out on a long desert road :P

I came here to say I hated forza 4 and wouldn't touch the franchise again with a pole, this:
open-world racing
, however has possibly renewed my interest. I miss the old point to point rally style races that the need for speed series's had. I get very bored going round in circles and even 4 laps is enough that after the 3rd lap I just end up starting to f*** abour drifting & playing dodgem cars to try and keep myself interested. Considering you race on the same damn tracks over and over and over and over and over and over and over and overrrrrrrrrrr through the career, by the time you're done you've probably done a thousand laps of every track. IT'S BORING.

The Forza games are about as simulation as you can get. It's not really about excitement and driving around in giant underwater aquariums it is about perfecting your driving style and finally nailing that perfect lap.

@Whoop

So you're not much into actual racing then? Because that's pretty much what Forza is about .. racing, you might as well play Mario Kart if all you want to do is hold down the accelerator and slide everywhere.

The codemaster racing games were awful for physics in my opinion. They all felt too arcadey. So I hope, they dont butcher the Forza series.

i wouldnt say awful, but compared to a simulator they weren't great.
GRID/DIRT are very much arcade races.

GRID would be up there with one of my favourite racing games.
