With the Final Fantasy XVI debut trailer's opening tag reading "captured on PC emulating the PS5 experience". As a follow-up to the great Final Fantasy XV this next installment in the long-running RPG series looks to be evoking a more traditional fantasy setting. As highlighted by the logo which captures the feel of some of the classic Final Fantasy games from back in the day.

And it's headed to both PlayStation 5 and PC. Visually this looks great, and this extended trailer features a bunch of real-time cinematics and battle scenes.

The final Fantasy team at Square Enix has apparently grown considerably for the development of this, but the release may actually be a while off -- with the in-depth reveal coming some time next year. From what we see here though the tone looks to be darker and more sinister than XV -- and again, with an aesthetic that looks to be more traditional fantasy. Final Fantasy.
