It has an intro, title screen, and then a post-benchmark fanfare and character celebration screen. All of this whilst giving players the chance to test their PC rigs ahead of the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion launch on November 23, 2021. And yeah this doubles as an Endwalker sneak peak as it features in-game areas and character models from the upcoming expansion.
It's a standalone app that has a 6-minute or so run-time and plenty of options to tweak and change graphics settings. If you're wondering what it looks and sounds like, here a video.
It also comes equipped with an updated character creator tool, including the new playable race coming - male Viera. So you can spend time tinkering with a new toon and save that data for use when the expansion drops.
For the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Official Benchmark -- head here. It outlines how to run it and what the scores mean. For our GeForce RTX 3090 running in 4K with maximum settings we got the 'Extremely High' result of 15519 points, which meant an average frame-rate of 108-fps and a total load-time between the five scenes of 10.45 seconds.
