In that we though this little bit of info was going to be included at part of Square Enix's own E3 showcase. Turns out we were wrong, and that an unscheduled trailer would contain the worldwide release date for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake. With the project still on track to be released episodically, the first part is due March 3, 2020.
As highlighted in the new gameplay trailer, which shows off some of the earlier sections of the game we've seen in previous footage.
That said there's definitely new stuff in this latest trailer, including a decent chunk of battle footage. Which looks very different from the traditional turn-based encounters seen the original. It'll be interesting so see how it all works and whether or not it will blend some turn-based with real-time. Hopefully we get an in-depth, montage-free, look at gameplay in the coming days.
