After revealing late last year that a revamped version of the popular seventh title in the Final Fantasy series was underway, Square Enix has finally launched the PC version of Final Fantasy VII on Steam. Featuring a few additions to the game, it seems this reboot of the hit franchise is giving PC players a chance to enjoy the game without fiddling with emulators.
Whether you’re a seasoned FINAL FANTASY VII veteran or exploring this RPG classic for the very first time, show off your in-game accomplishments and put your gaming skills to the test with 36 brand new achievements to unlock. Share your profile with friends online to find out who is the ultimate FINAL FANTASY fan.
Find yourself stuck on a difficult section or lacking the funds to buy that vital Phoenix Down? With the Character Booster you can increase your HP, MP and Gil levels to their maximum, all with the simple click of a button, leaving you to enjoy your adventure.
As well as the achievements and character boosting, players will also find the game utilises cloud saving (no not the actual Cloud), allowing you to access your saves on any computer. Square Enix haven't said whether the title will be on any other distribution bar their own, but hopefully in this modern age there will be more choice.
If you haven't played enough of Final Fantasy VII you can check out the
Steam page for more info, including its price tag of $15.99.

Last time I tried to play FF7, I ended up quitting out after a half hour because it basically devolved into *mash A as fast as possible so you don't give away an attack to the enemy*
Much prefer the slower and more deliberate style of the FFX battle system.
