With
Far Cry 6 art showcasing a tropical setting and
Breaking Bad's Gustavo Fring (aka Giancarlo Esposito) as the villain. With
Ubisoft Forward taking place bright and early on Monday, July 13 at 5am AEST, take this as an unofficial posting around an as-yet unannounced title from Ubisoft. But, with the source being a store listing - with release date - we can expect to find out more then.
And that date is February 18, 2021 - for PlayStation 4. And those that purchase on PS4 will get the PlayStation 5 update at no extra cost. As this leak comes from the PlayStation Store, we can assume the free update will carry over to Xbox Series X too.
Back to the details -- the store listing features a pretty detailed outline of the setting.
Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.
In Far Cry 6 players will reportedly take control of freedom fighter Dani Rojas, a Yaran local looking to liberate his home and potentially remove all of the Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up stores. Going back to an island setting for Far Cry sounds pretty cool, but the listing also states that Yara will be the biggest Far Cry location to date - covering "jungles, beaches, and Esperanza the capital city of Yara".
Again, this hasn't be officially confirmed - but we'll be keeping an eye our for it at Ubisoft Forward.
