Ubisoft has unveiled a new teaser website for their heavily-rumoured '80s-themed spinoff of Far Cry 3, complete with neon-infused designs reminding us of an earlier time on the Internet. While many will simply brush it off as an elaborate April Fool's joke, recent rumours and leaks suggest that it might not be a joke at all with previous information going back almost a month.
The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.
Alongside the quirky gifs and neon design is also a mock interview with the writer/director of a film based on Blood Dragon, Alexis Graveyard. GameInformer has uncovered "a Konami code Easter egg that reveals an image of a character with glowing eyes and what appears to be an omega symbol on his chest." Two sample songs are also available for listening which definitely suit the '80s theme the website is going for.

Check out the teaser trailer below which will remind you of the old NES days but also swing by the funky website for a look back on the past.

I hope to god it's real. I'm such a massive fan of awesomely bad 80s action films. I'll throw money at Ubisoft if it's anything like this:

Me too glynd. It can't be a April fool's joke, as the webpage is there.

Even if it is a joke a lot of people will want this (including me) that they may end up making it. 80s FTW!
