More of a compilation of footage already showcased as part of the Fallout 76 debut at Bethesda's E3 conference, the latest gameplay video focuses on the new location of West Virginia and visual upgrades. Where the Fallout 4 engine has seen updates to lighting and landscape tech to render bigger environments packed with more detail.
We probably have to wait a little while until we see more Fallout 76, as so far the multiplayer concept sounds like fun but we would love to see how the new NPC-free Overseer quests work - in addition to overall exploration in West Virginia. According to information gleaned so far, each of the zones or districts in the huge map will offer increasing challenge. Kind of like how level-specific regions might work in an MMO.
I wonder what performance is like. In the downtown Boston area in Fallout 4, My FPS goes down to 20-40 FPS on ultra settings at 1080p. I just hope they optimise the large town areas.
From what I remember about the other videos for this game, There are no Human NPCs IIRC. Which seems odd. There are other human players but why would I fight them, We were just in a Vault together for the past 20 years with a mission to rebuild humanity. It makes more sense as a PvE game as opposed to a mixed PvE/PvP game to me.
