Available now on PC and tomorrow for the Xbox One and PS4 versions, Fallout 76's 1.0.3.10 patch is a fairly massive one in terms of updates and bug fixes. After receiving negative feedback for not being transparent with patch notes, Bethesda this week has rectified things by including, well, quite a bit of info.
Here are the highlights.
C.A.M.P. Construction Improvements: Small obstructions will now be automatically removed when you place objects on top of them, allowing you to more easily build where you want.
C.A.M.P. Placement Improvements: You will now be notified when you log into a world and your current C.A.M.P. location is occupied by another player. If you stay in that world, you can place your C.A.M.P. back down for free somewhere else. If you decide not to place your C.A.M.P. and join a new world where your space is unoccupied, it will be automatically placed in its original spot.
SPECIAL Re-speccing: Upon reaching level 51, and every level thereafter, you’ll be able to choose whether you want to unlock a new Perk Card or reallocate one SPECIAL point.
Push-to-Talk: We’ve implemented a push-to-talk hotkey for Voice Chat on PC so that you can decide when to speak up and when to remain silent.
New PC Settings: We’ve added Field of View and Depth of Field sliders so that you can further customize your view in-game.
21:9 Resolution Support: On PC, you can catch an even wider view from those gorgeous Appalachian vistas, because Fallout 76 now supports monitors that use 21:9 aspect ratios.
The full patch notes are extensive, so
click here to check them out. Other highlights include changing the lighting for exterior environments, making them brighter. A change we're not so sure about considering the already washed out and overly bright look to Falluot 76. We'd prefer a brightness slider and the ability to adjust HDR values.
The new patch also includes several quest fixes that should make the experience smoother. Although one of the fixes seems to be for an issue that many (including us) didn't even realise was a bug.
Feed the People: Fixed an issue in which completing the Feed the People Event Quest granted Canned Meat Stew to all players on the server, rather than only the quest’s participants.
An Event that when completed gives everyone on the server food, which we all assumed was a cool gesture that lived up to the name "Feed the People". Here's hoping they revert it back to the glitched version, because it's the sort of quest we'd love to see more of. With Fallout 76's world as big as it is, having something one player does in one corner affect another on the other side of the map is a reminder that there are other survivors out there.
The new patch weighs in at approximately 5GB for consoles, and 3GB for PC. Bethesda plan on releasing another patch before the year is out.
