For the first time since its inception, the weekly Inside the Vault Fallout 76 update from Bethesda is focusing solely on new content coming to the game. After several months of bug fixes and performance updates, this month finally sees the arrival of new content - starting with Wild Appalachia. A season of new stuff kicking off with the addition of brewing and distilling.
So you can make your own Nukashine. Starting with a new quest-line called ‘Wasted on Nukashine’, players will find a speakeasy in the vicinity of Vault-Tec University home to Biv - "Appalachia’s tipsiest robot". This will unlock the ability to craft the new Brewing Station and subsequent daily quests will unlock new recipes and put the effects of alcoholic beverages to the test. With beers, cocktails, wines, and spirits all part of the Fallout 76 liquid diet. Certain drinks will also require fermentation, and to speed up that process players can also learn how to craft the Fermenter.
Here's a few selections of some of the drinks to expect.
WINES AND SPIRITS
Wines and Spirits require some fermentation time to take advantage of their full effects as a “fresh” beverage. Let them age long enough, and they will change from “fresh” to “vintage”, and gain additional, more powerful effects. Here’s a look at a blazing spirit known as Firecracker Whiskey:
- Fresh Effect: Your melee attacks will result in self-immolation, damaging both you and your attackers.
- Vintage Effect: In addition to its fresh effects, Firecracker Whiskey will set enemies on fire from your ballistic and melee attacks.
BEERS
Beers require fermentation, but they are best served fresh and do not have a vintage state. Become the ultimate predator with an ice-cold glass of Hoppy Hunter:
- Fresh Effects: Increased scope stability and damage versus animals, but reduced VATS accuracy.
MIXED DRINKS
Mixed drinks do not require fermentation and their effects do not change. Gulp down a Tick Blood Tequila Sunrise to sate your appetite:
- Effects: Your successful melee attacks have a chance to inflict you with a disease but may also refill your hunger meter.
Wild Appalachia begins this month and in addition to above will include several content drops, including a new PvP mode, a new scouts faction, the ability to decorate your C.A.M.P. with objects you find - and more. For more info,
