Bethesda is set to update 2015's Fallout 4 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC next year with a 4K update and an official performance mode for high frame rates. The surprising news arrives as Fallout is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Bethesda notes that the update will be free, and will come with bonus Creation Club content too. Which are the officially supported mods that can be installed on all platforms.
And with Halloween on the horizon Fallout 76 is currently experiencing its annual Spooky Scorched event, though interestingly there's no word of the current online Fallout getting a performance mode update for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 to match the one coming for Fallout 4. Both games effectively run on the same engine, and although Fallout 76 players on modern consoles experience faster loading and a more stable presentation it would be nice to see the arrival of a performance mode here too.
If nothing else, it'll make my Fallout 4 museum run a lot faster on Xbox Series X versus Xbox One.
