Everspace 2 is the ambitious flying-space-action-RPG-thing from indie studio ROCKFISH Games where it made its Early Access debut this year on Steam. Today it makes its debut on Xbox Game Pass on PC and Console, ahead of the next major content update due in November.
For a bit of background on Everspace 2 here's a look at the Early Access launch trailer from earlier this year, and some info outlining what it's all about.
EVERSPACE 2 is a fast-paced, single-player space shooter with deep exploration, tons of loot, and modern RPG elements. Experience a thrilling story set in a vivid, handcrafted open-world full of secrets and perils on your journey as a former clone space pilot to become human after all.
EVERSPACE 2 continues the story of Adam Roslin from the first part of the series. EVERSPACE 2 currently has three sprawling star systems that can be freely explored by space pilots. Players experience Adam's emotional journey and personal development from an immortal clone space pilot to an individual character whose death has final consequences in an open-world action RPG. EVERSPACE 2 offers in the current Early Access version more than 25 hours of gameplay and already contains all core mechanics of the targeted final version.
It's certainly a looker, and ambitious to boot. With combat, exploration, and a loot system, it's a refreshing take on a style of game (the space shooter) we don't see often. Alongside today's announcement ROCKFISH notes that the full release is due sometime in Early 2023 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
