The first new audio product from
EPOS in 2021 takes a little detour into the realm of wireless earbuds. These being your AirPods and other mostly Bluetooth audio solutions designed for on-the-go sound. The new
EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid Wireless Earbuds present a slightly different approach -- they’re designed for gaming and with a wireless dongle also included (that offers up low latency audio), it pairs nicely with a wide range of devices.
A snippet.
When picturing a headset or headphones designed for gaming the mind instantly conjures up an image of an over the ear deal -- thick cups, a comfortable headband, a microphone that swivels up and down. Gaming audio, like anything else, isn’t a one-size-fits-all sitch, especially in terms of form-factor. With the Nintendo Switch, mobile gaming (Diablo Immortal and the recent release of Xbox Game Pass Streaming are but two ‘for reals’ mobile examples), in addition to the old pop-a-laptop-on-a-desk and fire up a game -- there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be in-ear buds designed and aimed at those that game on the go.
The new EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid Wireless Earbuds presents exactly that, with this being the first EPOS audio product for 2021 in its post Sennheiser form. It may not be the first wireless in-ear offering suitable for gaming (connect any wired buds to a Switch and you should be okay), but it’s one product that does treat the form and format with an eye and attention towards detail. Case in point, as a wireless pair of in-ear buds, the Hybrid in the EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid refers to its dual Bluetooth and Wireless Dongle nature. The dongle not only allows for low-latency audio for devices like the Switch, PC, PS5, or even smartphone -- but actually changes the audio profile too.
