Called Battle Royale, and it's coming to Fortnite next week launching as a free mode on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For those with an understanding of PUBG the 100-player PvP mode will sound familiar. Except that the fort building mechanics of Fortnite will carry over to add a new twist to the Battle Royale formula.

With a similar mode also available on GTA Online, we should probably expect to see more PUBG inspired multiplayer content in the coming months. In terms of Fortnite's Battle Royale mode, it's quite the smart play by Epic as currently there's nothing quite like it on PS4 of Xbox One. With PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds console debut still slated for release sometime later this year.

The new mode drops September 26.
