A new report from Kotaku Australia recently noted that the brick 'n' mortar store EB Games has been tasked with removing all current copies of Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls Online to be sent back to the publisher.

According to a source from EB Games, the online MMORPG will have all stocks removed by January 13th. The move comes just after the game's six month subscription option disappeared, lending further credence towards a possible free-to-play shift.

Hopefully we'll hear more about the current situation with The Elder Scrolls Online, which is still scheduled to debut on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, after a rather lengthy delay from last year's initial launch.

WoW can still use the subscription based model so it shows people are willing to pay for a decent MMO.

Wow is already well established though, I think its a big ask for a new MMO to break into the scene and make subscription model work these days

I liked ESO and I liked SWtOR too but they are just too late to the party it seems. There isn't enough room in the world for too many sub mmos. I might play ESO again if it ever ends up on console.

Yeh I could see myself buying an ESO on XBone if it was no-sub and just needed Gold or something
