The hours tick by as we get closer to the launch of the Xbox One on November 22nd, and with the sands of time drawing closer EB Games Australia has today revealed their official plans for the Australian launch of the next-gen console.

With 317 midnight openings and 352 breakfast events planned across the country, the electronic retailer has revealed six official launches across five states that will house both midnight openings and a breakfast event.
The Official Xbox One Midnight and Breakfast Launches will be held at the following locations:

EB Helensvale, QLD
EB Tea Tree Plaza, SA
EB Knox City, VIC
EB MacArthur, NSW
EB Werribee, VIC
EB Rockingham, WA (Breakfast)
Those attending the select official launches will find DJ entertainment, games such as Hole In “ONE” Mini Golf, giveaways, refreshments, free slushies, and of course to gain access to your next-gen console.

Debra McGrath, National Brand, Events and Engagement Manager said, “It’s been an incredible year for the gaming community and we’re thrilled to be hosting events that help support and celebrate a new generation. The demand has been unprecedented, so it really is an exciting time for gamers and those working in the industry. It has been a fantastic year and this is only the beginning of what’s to come.”

EB Games has also announced a Fast Pass system, available to those who have already paid off their pre-order ahead of the launch. Customers in possession of a Fast Pass will have access to a priority queue which will ultimately allow them to begin the next generation of gaming sooner.

I'm kind of tempted to get both now, after seeing Dead Rising 3 and Ryse in action. I think I'll hold off until after Christmas though, really need to get presents sorted first.

i have little interest in the xbone so i doubt i will ever buy one. i will eventually grab a ps4 when some good exclusives come out. in the mean time i'm going to buy a ps4 controller at launch to use with my ps3 and pc.

I would like to get both, but I just don't think I can justify it this time around. I got a 360 and a PS3 and other than a few exclusive games I barely touched my 360. So as much as I would like to play Dead Rising 3 and probably Ryse, I just don't see it being enough this time around. That being said there's really not that much exciting stuff happening at the PS4 at launch, but I have to get something right!! RIGHT?

I have a PS3 and Xbox 360, my game collection on the 360 is huge I only picked up the PS3 for exclusive titles, most of my friends have the Xbox 360 which is the reasoning behind it.

I am going to wait for a year before I pick up a next gen so it's cheaper and I'll be able to make an informed decision based on games and which of my friends has what.

plus any kinks in the launch models should be ironed out by then with the release of new models.

I dont give a hoot, I'm sick of paying launch prices I payed $1000 for my PS3 on launch

Console
1 Game
1 Extra Controller
1 PS3 Remote

WTF

Oh I also bought a launch 3DS for $349, one month later they drop the price and nintendo gave me 20 games that I could of gotten for free via emulation on my PC

So yeah I'm waiting a year and as ravn0s said my console will run better then yours

Pop quiz for those buying an xbone at launch.

Can you please plug it into your W7-W8-W8.1 machine via USB and tell me if there are drivers available for it?

I've got a pre-order down for an xbone controller and I'm not sure I wanna bother using a 'seven day satisfaction guarantee' to learn if it does/doesn't work.

Last thing I read about Windows support for the new xbox1 controller is that it will be available after launch. Maybe a couple of months down the track rather than 23rd of Nov type thing.

Hahah, you think Microsoft are going to make it that easy. I predict a long hard road for modders with multiple redundancy securities that get turned on whenever Microsoft feel like upping the anti.

GG M$ for releasing on a Friday, so stoked about that.

wish there was a larger selection of launch titles but what can you do? DR#3 and Ryse will make for a damn good weekend. Can't see many launch issues myself I mean it's not their first rodeo but I doubt I'll go online straight away other than to claim the day 1 achievement anyway.

Yes i'm a pre-orderer of the xboxone1. Was initially going to import it seeing how it's cheap in the states and is region free but then i figured im only saving $75 and would get something lame like MADDEN instead of FIFA. Also i couldn't wait that long for them to ship cause i have to play Killer Instinct on day one1!

Question: When is the actual release date, is it Thursday 21/11 at 11:59am or Friday 22/11 at 11:59am? (i'm assuming it's the former but i'll still be in Mackay then)

Official release is November 22nd, so whenever your retailer opens their doors. EB Games and I presume JB will be doing midnight launches, meaning November 22nd, 12AM AEST/AEDT. Same goes for PlayStation 4 on November 29th.

EB Games Werribee, am excited about this! Paid off my pre orders yesterday and got my Fast pass. Was first in line at Werribee for the 360 launch and ill be trying my best to do the same with this launch. I'm just shattered that the Zelda 3DS XL comes out the day after, was hoping to get it on the same day for maximum nerd level.

I'd love to go to one of these with a gutted case or something and just throw it on the ground as hard as I could, laugh maniacally and walk off while maintaining eye contact with each and every person as I passed them.

I pre-ordered an xbox one today, I wasn't going to do it and would of proffered to get a PS4 as I believe it is the superior system, but it's sold out so ill grab one in the new year, it also didn't have any launch games im super excited about, whereas the xbone has DR3.

DR3 isn't sounding all that good:

The statement from the team is that a locked 30fps is targeted here, but in the build we saw there's a huge gap to be bridged in this regard; drops to 20fps are consistent and sustained when outdoors, with 16fps being our record low during some of the biggest explosions. With Battlefield 4 on Xbox One, the drop to 720p opened the door to 60fps gameplay - Dead Rising 3's big issue is that despite the upgrades, the feeling in terms of refresh and response often feels very much like a poorly optimised current-gen title.
