Hold on a second, a "completely finished" expansion for a game that has yet to be completed and still suffers from a number of performance issues and bugs across both PC and Xbox One? Yep, welcome to Ark: Scorcher Earth. An admittedly pretty awesome looking expansion that introduces a new area to explore. One filled with dragons and giant rock golems. Plus, a vast desert where water, food, and such are all scarce.

Again, taking a look at the trailer below, it does look very cool. And it's available now on Steam and Xbox One.

But the question remains, why release this when the base game is still in development? A strange proposition to be sure, and one that the developer has chalked up to 'we've had multiple Arks planned from the get-go, hence the travel system.'
