After reporting a quite tepid Q2 2014 financial report, speaking to investors during EA’s second quarter 2014 financial call, chief operating officer Peter Moore discussed how many consoles the company expects on shelves soon. According to Moore, that number is 10 million.
The numbers come from the console makers themselves, with Sony and Microsoft having suggested that there will be 10 million consoles on shelves by March 31, 2014. Presumably that number is a shared collective, though either way it seems the two companies are hoping to make it easier for your average customer to walk up and grab a console off the shelf. A launch attach rate of three games per console was also revealed in the call, a prediction that EA uses to help determine the number of sales between launch and the end of the fiscal year.
Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen has also revealed that Titanfall will be truly exclusive to PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One "for the life of the title," putting to bed rumours that we may see it on PlayStation 4.
Respawn Entertainment's upcoming first-person shooter was revealed earlier this year as an exclusive title to PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, however some were still unsure whether we would see the mechanical robots march through to other platforms.
In response to a question about the FPS title, Jorgensen revealed that "in the case of Titanfall, it's a brand new IP, and it's exclusive only for the life of the title on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and PCs."
Interestingly, it seems that the first Titanfall will be exclusive to Xbox and PC, with Respawn Entertainment co-founder and ex-Infinity Ward member Vince Zampella taking to
Twitter to indicate Electronic Arts and Microsoft's exclusive deal for Titanfall is a recent development. Zampella stated that Titanfall was "always MS exclusive at launch" but that "EA made a deal for the rest," which Respawn "only found out recently."
Since the announcement, Zampella has responded to Tweets regarding the exclusivity, stating that Respawn Entertainment
will eventually make PlayStation 4 titles, and implied that Titanfall's exclusivity is limited to the first game only.

Not one person goes and buys a console. They just sit on the shelves. And then the news stories. the head scratching. the response to zero sales by sony and microsoft. the panic and finger pointing.
