Called Star Fox: Grand Prix, which
according to rumours will play like Rare's Diddy Kong Racing. In that it will feature a hub world, adventure-style races, and boss fights. Reports are also pointing to F-Zero as a source of inspiration, which we assume is due to the no wheels and speed associated with racing an Arwing.
We've been wondering what Nintendo-owned Retro Studios was working on for quite sometime now. As the creators and developers of the Metroid Prime series we were surprised to learn that Metroid Prime 4 was not being worked on at the studio. Also the fact that Metroid Prime is one of the all-time greats means the studio has lifetime legendary status. Meaning we'll always have time for a new Retro Studios jam.
The last title from the studio was the excellent Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Wii U, which recently saw a re-release for the Nintendo Switch. It makes sense that Nintendo would have something from Retro ready in time to show at its E3 presentation, and based on the comparison to Diddy Kong Racing, the concept sounds like a lot of fun. Here's hoping that Nintendo Australia don't rename it 'Lylat Wars: Starwing Grand Prix'.

And to have Namco Bandai allegedly driving this after the mess that was Team Ninja's Metroid: Other M... I just can't. Retro Studios or bust.
