Earlier today at its EA Play conference the publisher dedicated a large portion of the presentation to everything Star Wars Battlefront II, with the message being 'we've taken all the feedback from the first game, and now bring you this'. Which is good because Star Wars Battlefront II needs to be hitting all the right notes. A cinematic story-driven campaign, maps and modes encompassing all Star Wars eras, co-op, space battles, and post-launch content that will be free.

With the first season of free stuff to be based on the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIII with new heroes Finn and Captain Phasma joining the game and a new map taken from the film shortly after release. With the key difference this time around being that both will be free for all players. A move in the right direction to avoid a splintering of the player-base which adversely affected the original game.

Here's the E3 2017 gameplay trailer that showcases multiplayer in the Episode I setting of Naboo, some of the campaign stuff, and some X-Wing's flying through an asteroid field.

In addition to the above we've also got confirmation that Battlefront II will include a proper class system this time around too -- which, in execution, makes it look more in line with the excellent Battlefield 1 than the flawed Battlefront 1.

We should probably expect to see more story stuff at Sony's E3 conference as the game is being marketed primarily for the PlayStation 4 audience. Star Wars Battlefront II will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17.

I've been checking out the streams from E3 by Stonemountian64. My god the Frostbite3 engine just seems to keep giving, the visuals in BF2 look incredible, although still only an E3 'build' the environments are simply insane. I hope they finish it off with more destructibility of the world detil in the final release. There are a lot of trees and potplants taking direct hits from blasters and chainguns that aren't being effected. :) Oh and Darth Maul is kickarse, he just enters a room and slaughters everything in sight.

Agreed, this looks absolutely phenomenal visually. Let's hope they have got the balance right and keep people interested.
