At least that's what we gathered from the reveal trailer. Throw in a dash of Groundhog Day and this new version of Prey looks quite unlike anything we've seen before from the series. Which, is both a good and bad thing. Good because this is pretty much a reboot in every way, and looks wholly original in tone and scope. And bad because we can probably say good-bye once and for all to the cool cyberpunk Prey 2 from a few years back.
Developed by a new Austin-based division of Arkane Studios, this new version of Prey is set in the year 2032, where players take on the role of Morgan Yu as the subject of intense experiments designed to improve humanity. Or at the very least, "see what happens". At some point or another he wakes up to find that a mysterious alien presence has taken over the space station. And then, the weirdness continues.
It looks very interesting. And probably doesn't really need the name Prey to sell its concept.
Prey will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017.
