Okay so that bit about The Legend of Zelda being the only game Nintendo would showcase at E3 was a lie. And with the number of exclusive Wii U games on the horizon being somewhere between 0 and a couple, Nintendo will be releasing a new entry in the Paper Mario series on October 8, called Paper Mario: Color Splash. Which, looks awesome.

Here's something you may not be aware of. The last proper Paper Mario RPG came out for the Nintendo GameCube, and to this day Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a classic. Truly one of the funniest games ever created. So it's great to see that this new Paper Mario is similar, in the sense that it retains the same classic turn-based combat with the same irreverent and absurdist sense of humour.

Which, looks to be taken up a notch.
