At the Microsoft E3 conference late last night the next installment in the Forza Horizon series was announced. And in addition to the great new features like four-player campaign co-op, drop in and drop out online, PC and Windows 10 cross-play, and the biggest line-up of cars in the series history there was also this little nugget. It's set in Australia! Chalk this one up as a pleasant, and very welcome surprise.
Seeing the following trailer was a bit like, "Hey are those Kangaroos?" and "Isn't that the Three Apostles?", and then the brain slowly processing the idea of a racing game set in Australia. Check it out.
Now fingers crossed for some local cars. The 2017 Lamborghini Centenario is nice and all but it's not exactly a Commodore.
Forza Horizon 3 will be released September 27 for Xbox One and Windows 10. And as part of Microsoft's new Xbox Play Anywhere platform you'll only need to buy it once to play it on either device.
One of my first thoughts while I was watching the video... "This is pretty unrealistic. No way are Australian roads that smooth. Where are the f*****g potholes?"
