We've been running across rooftops avoiding the lurching undead of the decimated city of Harran for the past week or so, and feel that Techland's new IP deserves a place in everyone's unbeating, dead gaming hearts.
It's a polarising game. I know Joaby likely won't agree with even half of what I've written in my review, but that's the nature of this sort of system. Dying Light has been a revelation for me -- showcasing a maturity in design across many fronts for Techland, specifically in narrative, level-design and character progression.
It's also just a heck of a lot of fun. There's room for improvement in areas, but as a new IP, and as a studio busting their collective cajones to play with the big boys, Dying Light is a fantastic start to what I hope is not a a dead future.

On Xbox One and PS4 the visuals are pretty sweet, apparently a new patch for PC has optimised desktop visuals as well

Downsides, crappy characters/voice acting

You gotta invest time to get the levels so you can become a spiderman parkour god. Get a friend and the game is twice as fun. Do everything at night too. That's the real challenge.

Just say, hypothetically, you had no friends. Could you still enjoy this game?

Also there is no better satisfaction then jumping off a building and ground pounding a zombie. Soooo good. Oh and infi, no need for friends as the Be the Zombie allows you to invade anyone's public game, which is a lot of fun.
