Last we heard Sony weren't doing Early Access releases for the PlayStation 4, but hey, we'll take it. And when it comes to Media Molecule's ambitious Dreams, it's the sort of game tailor made for Early Access. If you can call it a "game", as Dreams looks to give players more than that with an easy-to-use and powerful entire game engine to unleash their creativity.

As per the blog post by Media Molecule's Siobhan Reddy.
We can’t wait to welcome you in to get creating and be able to have a game jam with all of you! We’ve been working on Dreams for a long time now and the core of Dreams – the creation bit – is ready. There is so much we want to do with and add to Dreams – but to start, we want players to be able to see their creations on their own TV screen and be able to have all the tools they need to make games or stories or art or music accessible from their couch.

The future for Dreams is exciting – so we hope that Early Access gives us the feedback we need to make Dreams an amazing space for creators and players alike for years to come. We know you may still have questions…we’ve highlighted some key points below to help you navigate Early Access and beyond!

Dreams will launch at $39.95 AUD exclusively via the PlayStation Store - with an apparent set number of Early Access copies to be sold. As per the trailer above and the description Dreams represents a very different style of release than we're used to - in what looks like a pure and in-depth game creation tool.
