Just yesterday -- admist leaked screenshots -- we were remarking about how Valve have yet to release any official media from their much talked about DoTA sequel outside of a couple of pieces of concept art. Well today -- perhaps in reaction to aforementioned leak -- they've released the first trailer for Dota 2, a cinematic teaser told "hrough the narrative of its colorful shopkeeper".
The new game coming from Valve for the PC and Mac! Dota 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made Dota popular with tens of millions of gamers around the world Check back on this page for more information and product updates.
Dota 2 will be publicly revealed this week with a million dollar invitational tournament at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany.

The textures are TF2ish, but I mean the night elf archer, and the tauren dude with the large tree stump etc.

Was the archer chick a character in the original DOTA? Can't help but think that they used her due to being nearly identical to one of LoL's flagship heroes, might help win people over by bridging the gap.

Though has nothing on the League of Legends cinematics imo.

Yes man... drow ranger was in the set of 12 original first heroes of DOTA. Does wayyyy back to the very begining of the first dota beta map! There no more dota her then her...

F*** yeah i love tauran / behemoth :)

Shame about the tf2 art style... sigh. you think their art team would have rejoiced at the chance to do _real_ art and not cartoons... after tf2.

except realistic art doesn't even really suit the style, the thing is you've been so accustomed to dota (blizzard's art style) so when it's changed to valves of course it's going to change a bit. I don't want them to go to TF2 style, it's ok but i'd like a bit more flash.. still so much of the game is based off animation and spell decals rather then pure graphics.

I could never get into DOTA, because I was s***. I then tried HON but as much as I loved the game itself I didn't enjoy it because I was s***, I don't think 3rd times a charm in this case.

hey Mosfxx i sux too... but what i have found that really helps is that the clan i am in (Ethereal) is a social gaming clan and i play with them which helps me get better... plus my psr sucks so much it makes them play easier opponents :)

Gathered as such. Not sure if it was intentional, but the guy reminded me tons of the salesman from the start of aladdin (who I think turned out to be the genie once the trilogy was finished, bit of trivia).
