In addition to Gamescom, QuakeCon is happening this week! And alongside the epic Quake Champions competition with a $1 million USD prize pool, id Software and Bethesda have announced release dates for its VR lineup coming to HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. With Skyrim VR, DOOM VFR, and Fallout 4 VR all coming in 2017.

Here are the release dates.
  • Skyrim VR: November 17 for PSVR (PlayStation 4)
  • DOOM VFR: December 1 for PSVR (PlayStation 4), HTC VIVE (PC)
  • Fallout 4 VR: December 12 for HTC VIVE (PC)

With all titles being standalone VR experiences.

And with the recent price drop for the HTC Vive, if you were considering making the plunge into a virtual world full of virtual wonders, perhaps this news will help swing you into the direction of going VR.
